NYRA Organizes Second Job Fair Ahead of Summer Meet

This week, the New York Racing Association informed the public that it will be organizing a second job fair ahead of the action-packed summer 2022 horse racing season. The event will be held at the end of the month, and its goal is to recruit even more seasonal workers for Saratoga Race Course and its 2022 summer meet.

This year’s summer meet at the historic track also promises tons of world-class racing and entertainment. It will be highlighted by the 153rd edition of the US$1.25 million Runhappy Travers (G1) on August 27, 2022, and the US$1 million Whitney (G1) on August 6, 2022. The summer meet is scheduled to start on Thursday, July 14, 2022, and continue through Monday, September 5, 2022.

In a recent statement, the New York Racing Association explained that the second job fair will be held from June 23, 2022, through June 25, 2022. And those who are interested in securing seasonal jobs are welcome to attend. The event will be taking place at Saratoga Race Course in 1863 Club, and on June 23, 2022, it will start from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Then on Friday, June 24, 2022, the event will commence again at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. and on Saturday, the last day of the fair will be short as it starts at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m. The association informs that applicants should enter the premises through the clubhouse gates, which is located at the intersection of Wright Street and Frank Sullivan Way.

At the second job fair, opportunity seekers will be able to apply for numerous positions. And according to NYRA, this includes hospitality ambassadors; guest services; cashiers; parking attendants; ticket scanners; Bets Squad representatives; white caps/ushers; box office; betting clerks; parking attendants; technology interns; security guards; porters; cooks; waitstaff; bussers; merchandise clerks; concessions supervisors and cashiers; cleaners; and warehouse workers.

There will also be positions up for grabs with the association, Integrated Staffing, Levy Restaurants, Mazzone Hospitality, AmTote International, Dyehard Fan Supply. AllPro, Union Square Events, and others. Candidates must be at least 15 years old and present New York State Certified Working Papers. At the end of last month, NYRA also announced that it will be hosting an all-inclusive tour at its Saratoga Race Course for the first time ever. The new offering will be available from June 15, 2022, and it is titled Breakfast and Breeding Farm tour presented by the Capital District Transportation Authority. Individuals could take advantage of the offer every Friday.

In addition to that, NYRA has also released its financial statements for 2021, which saw a great recovery from the 2020 slump. The return of live audiences at the tracks in 2021, was one of the main reasons for the recovery, and the association even reported a record-breaking handle of US$815.5 million. This amount crushed 2019’s record of US$705.3 million.
